Iceland

Your Iceland questions, answered:
(Click through the links for more detail)

When should I go?
October or March

What are some “must see” things in Iceland?
Got you covered

Which tours should I book?
You should 100%, definitely self-drive

Where should I stay?
If it’s your first trip, Reykjavik. If not, I think Reykjavik could be avoided and other spots close to your destinations of choice could be better. For example, when I took my family to Iceland we stayed near Selfoss, as it had much better accommodation for the price and was closer to most of the major sights in Southern Iceland.

What should I do in Reykjavik?
Do this
Eat this

Isn’t Iceland expensive?
Can be, but you can do it on a budget too

Do I need to speak Icelandic?
As a tourist, it’s very unlikely you’ll meet anyone who doesn’t speak good English.

Can you tell me about the Ring Road tour/North Iceland/Diamond Circle/East Iceland/Westfjords?
Yes! I finally completed a lap of Iceland’s famous ring road in February 2024. More info at the link!
