I’m Stu, I was born in the UK in 1983 and I’m most at home in Scandinavian and Nordic countries.
My passion started when I visited Sweden aged 16. It felt… like home? Which was odd, until I looked into my genealogy. I have Scandinavian roots from across Sweden, Norway and Denmark, and only discovered this after 10 years of trips, visits and adventures in the North. My family can trace itself back to the Norman invasion, and before that Kings of the Nordic countries (my line actually heads back into old Norse myth, and ends up suggesting I’m descended from the God NjörĂ°r).
My current tally of visits to the Nordics:
Sweden – 10 trips
Denmark – 6 trips
Iceland – 5 trips
Norway – 2 trips
Finland – 2 trips
As you can see, I’m not an expert, and by starting this website I’m not trying to claim to be one. I am passionate, enthusiastic, and more than anything I’m my friends’ go-to guy whenever they want to visit one of these countries. As such, it made sense to simply jot down the information I usually send in a message when requested.
I’m a father of three amazing children, and very much attached to my wonderful wife Mary (the beautiful redhead in some of the pics). I test software for a living and I like making music – hear that here.
